Red Hen


Susan Quinby-Honer, of Red Hen Enterprises, is a big promoter of earth-friendly lifestyles. She will have "working" worms in bins, to show how earthworms to turn garbage into a fabulous soil enhancer. Red Hen Enterprises grows and sells worms for composting systems, sells worms bins, vermicompost and does classroom/event presentations.

EXPLORE! Rhythm creates hands-on rhythm events for fun, education and community building.

Our store, Music Explorium® in Durham NC, serves our local community with drumming classes for all ages and percussion sales.


The currently planned Youth Venues are:

 

Hands-Free Spaghetti Eating Contest
Two Guys restaurant is hosting a hands-free spaghetti eating contest on the sidewalk outside of their restaurant. The contest will start at 11am, will continue throughout the day. Sign up sheets will be available at the festival and are first come, first serve.


Solar Powered Remote Controlled Car Races
Southern Energy Management will be providing 10 solar powered remote controlled cars to be raced throughout the day. Sign up sheets will be available at the festival and are first come, first serve.


Drumming Circle/Rhythmic Jam Session
Music Explorium is hosting a Drumming Circle, also known as a Rhythmic Jam Session. They will be bringing over 50 instruments made from recycled materials to jam on! The session will take place from 2 to 3:30pm. Sign up sheets will be available at the festival and are first, come first serve.


Moon Jump, Organic Worms
Moon Jump, also known as a Space Walk will be provided by the University Park Homewowners Assocation. Red Hen Enterprise will be bringing worms to play with that are also very beneficial for gardens and available for purchase.
