Event Management:
From event planning through day-of event management - Legacy interns roll up their sleeves to manage everything from accounting, to talent booking, to volunteer recruiting, creating a fluid and easy planning experience for event organizers and day-of volunteers.

Community Engagement 
The most critical aspect of any successful event is engaging the right audience. We help identify your target audience and engage them through: social media, promotional marketing, and event publicity.

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS VOLUNTEER

Interested in marketing events committed to unifying the Triangle? Legacy Event Planners, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is seeking a talented volunteer to assist in marketing and public relations for the events put on for their clients.

In 2013, Legacy is organizing an all-day yoga retreat, street festival on Glenwood South, a nonprofit fundraiser, and much more. Volunteers will gain valuable experience covering all aspects of marketing and public relations, both for Legacy’s clients and internally. Additionally, volunteers will have the opportunity to build a portfolio of their work that will benefit them in their future job search. 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Writing press releases and pitching stories to the media
  • Social media management
  • Monitoring press releases, regional news outlets and blogs for source material/story ideas
  • Development and implementation of a marketing plan for each event, utilizing both social media and email marketing

This is a great opportunity for recent college grads, job seekers, those looking to re-enter the workforce or make a career switch!  Volunteers will gain marketing and public relations experience in a fast-paced, exciting environment.
